Jiu-Jitsu
Honour, integrity, and empathy guide the Brentwood Jiu-Jitsu Program, where coaches work with students of all skill levels to learn the principles of efficiency, patience, control, and mindfulness—essential to jiu-jitsu, as well as to other areas of life.
Students of this program have the opportunity to participate in all three terms and compete both locally and provincially.

Athletes will be educated in core concepts, such as Jiu-Jitsu being known as the “gentle art” (as there is no striking), allowing a smaller person using leverage to defend themselves against a bigger opponent. Grappling and ground fighting are the primary vehicles for technique development, and each student will be provided a numbered gi (martial arts uniform) to use throughout the term.
