Allard Open House: A Night to Remember in the Coral Reef
The first open house of 2025 made a splash as students gathered in the Coral Reef on Saturday, January 18, for a night of liveliness and celebration. Hosted by the Allard Mermaids, the event brought together students from various years, setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable year full of energetic open houses.
What do slumber parties, weddings, and soccer tournaments have in common? The rough wake-up the morning after. The dress code for the night was creativity, and hilarious spontaneity, with attendees wearing things ranging from spider man suits to sparkly wedding gowns. This eclectic mix perfectly captured the chaotic aftermath of a legendary night. The atmosphere was electric, as students embraced the carefree spirit of the evening.
Addy V, Allard ‘25, Co-Assistant House Captain, an influential force in the DJ booth and on the dance floor, revealed that “The mosh was incredibly energetic all night long with a high-spirited crowd full of enthusiasm!” And indeed, the dance floor was alive with high-energy vibes all night. With every beat drop, the crowd seemed to grow more excited, dancing and singing along with infectious joy.
The dance floor was not the only place buzzing with excitement. Throughout the night, students gathered in groups, to share laughs, catch up with friends, play some water pong and explore Allard House for the first time.
As the event drew to a close, Megan C, Allard ‘25 expressed her excitement: “This year’s Allard Open House was a success, setting the bar high for the rest of the open houses this year.” Allard BFA Ms McLellan confidently stated that the event was, “The best open house I have ever been to” as she soaked up every moment in the mosh.
By the time 10 pm struck the clock, the mosh was, unfortunately, shut down, and guests were sent on their way as Allard 12s concluded their last open house.
With such a thrilling start to the new year, anticipation is already building for the next open house.
