Entre Booths & Food Services - Fuelling Regatta 2025
The 53rd Annual Brentwood Regatta is officially underway! As oars slice through the afternoon heat and cheers echo across the Mill Bay shoreline, something just as electric is unfolding on land - entrepreneurial spirit. This year’s Regatta isn’t just about speed on the water; it’s a celebration of innovation, hustle, and culinary creativity.
Eleven student-run food booths turn the event into a vibrant marketplace where flavour meets ambition. From rainbow cotton candy to refreshing smoothies, these pop-ups don’t just feed hungry spectators, they showcase what happens when young entrepreneurs are given the space to dream, build, and serve.
Each booth tells its own story:
The Sweet Escape wins over the crowd with its whimsical, melt-in-your-mouth cotton candy. “It’s so delicious, I feel like I’m in candy town,” says Tolani S, Privett ’26.
The Beaver Dam’s beavertails stand out with their affordable, refreshing specialties. From the iconic Sahir’s S’mores to strawberry sorbet and peach slushies, the team’s creativity and chemistry make them one to watch.
The Underdogs, with their cheeky slogan “We’re Good Enough,” exceed expectations with gourmet hot dogs. “They’re equivalent to Nathan’s Famous - tender yet juicy,” says Aanish T, Ellis ’26.
Thick Chimp Cheese transforms grilled cheese into luxury comfort food. Inspired by their gorilla mascot, they serve cinnamon mini donuts and their signature “Funky Monkey Fizz” pink lemonade. “Simply superb,” says Brandon R, Ellis ’26. Mascots Jackson L, Ellis ‘26, and Owen P, Rogers ‘26 were seen roaming the venue in gorilla masks, drawing in curious customers.
Fire Fries is one to be reckoned with - a booth, as co-founder Bertie M, Whittall ’25, puts it, “requires no explanation for purchase.” Serving crispy fries, pulled pork poutine, and drinks ranging from Coke to Red Bull, this team nails both flavour and quantity. “Tasty, mood-brightening, and plentiful,” says Kang C, Whittall ’26, after trying the signature pulled pork fries.
Burger Wizard surprises many with its underrated milkshakes. The vanilla-chocolate flavour tastes like something straight from Dairy Queen, while “The Magician” - a classic burger with patty, cheese, and lettuce - is simple, satisfying, and a crowd-pleaser.
Guac & Roll brings bold flavour and flair with their churros and pork quesadillas. “These are the best quesadillas I’ve ever had,” says Christian G, Ellis ‘28, who also praises the booth’s energy, music, and exceptional customer service.
No matter the menu, every booth shares one key ingredient: passion. Whether it’s a group of friends experimenting with branding or a future Michelin-star chef fine-tuning their culinary vision, the entrepreneurial energy is infectious.
Beyond the booths, Crooks Hall plays a critical role in keeping the Regatta running smoothly. The dining hall provides meals for guests and rowing teams, depending on the packages purchased. Head Chef Mr. Sanderson describes the weekend as “a very busy time,” with his team feeding an “additional 700+ guests on top of Brentwood’s 600+ students and staff” for each meal. Their hard work behind the scenes, supporting both visitors and the Entrepreneurship booths, does not go unnoticed.
The Brentwood Regatta has always celebrated endurance, teamwork, and commitment - and now, more than ever, it champions enterprise. So come down, support the Entrepreneurship 12 students, and experience the intersection of sport and business - where hustle meets heart, and every bite tells a story.
