Girls' Rugby 2-0: Bronwen's Golden Boot
The Girls’ Rugby team travelled to Comox on Tuesday to play their second league game of the season. Playing a much less experienced team, we established a sizable lead before the starting lineup was replaced by the girls new to the program. With extraordinary runs, play, and tries, the new girls manipulated the opposing team showing their immense progress since the beginning of the term.
Outstanding contributions came from the hard running and determination of Youngeun L and Marie L, while Tristyn H, Rebecca M, and Kelsey S walked away with their first tries of their careers. Other tries were scored by many of the experienced players, followed by Bronwen S slotting 10 out of 15 of the conversions she attempted. The girls also fought hard on defence keeping their try line untouched.
Promising demonstrations of skill and heart were shown on the field; we hope that it continues on into our upcoming games.
