Mother’s Day, a day for all of us to take a moment and show our appreciation for the incredible women in our lives, was celebrated in a beautiful way on Saturday, May 9. Hosted by the Women's Society, the Mother’s Day Card Signing event turned McNeill’s into a bustling hub of creativity, laughter and gratitude. It was an amazing event, giving students the opportunity to gather, chat, and craft cards to show their gratitude.

From brainstorming the perfect message to write on the card, or dashing to grab the last perfect colour marker, everyone had a great time, and the event was heavily appreciated. “I'm not usually the creative type, but with all the supplies and everyone helping each other out, I managed to make a beautiful card that my mom will love,” shared Nim S, Mack ‘26

McNeill's, a space for the community to come together and connect in, was filled with coloured paper, ribbons, cardboard, and markers, creating a perfect space for creativity. Students sat together, poured their hearts into their cards and shared heartwarming stories about their families. At Brentwood, it is easy to get homesick, whether your home is just down the street or across the globe. It was a heartwarming sight to see everyone from different houses and grades bonding over shared gratitude for their moms, aunts, and maternal figures.

Captains of the club, Gracie B, Mack ‘26 and Chloe D, Alex ‘26, did an amazing job organizing this event, and a huge thank you goes out to them for all they do for the Women's Society. “Seeing everyone working together to make beautiful bouquet-style cards was heartwarming,” the Co-Captains shared. The Mother's Day card signing was a new initiative and was greatly appreciated by the entire campus. The event was a huge success, showing that, amongst the busy Brentwood schedule, we still have time for the people who support us the most. It allowed us to slow down and reflect on everything our mothers do for us.

Thank you to all the amazing women both on and off the Brentwood campus. We love you!
