The 2013-2014 season was one of substantial growth and development for the Junior A Basketball team. Despite being the youngest team in recent Brentwood basketball history, suiting up three Grade 9 players and one Grade 8 player, the team was able to be very competitive against much older and stronger opponents. With a record of 6 wins and 12 losses it would appear that the team did not have a successful season. Many of the losses, however, were quite close and the team matured as the season progressed to narrowly lose a contest against Shawnigan Lake School in the Mid-Island Championships by 5 points. Shawnigan would go on to finish 4th at the Island Championships.  Our leading scorers during the year were Ozgur Tarim and Carter Armstrong, but Salman Khattack, Joe Small, Ender McDuff and David Shen all demonstrated their knack for scoring during the season. Brendan Sullivan also demonstrated the ability to shoot from long range and his scoring touch will be welcomed back in his Grade 9 year. The future is bright for the Brentwood Basketball program and the Junior boys seem primed for a strong showing next season. Congratulations to Carter, Ender, Salman & Ozgur for earning their Athletics Colours. Mr. Liam Sullivan, Coach
