Lifer's Dinner Alex House

My Dearest Lifers,

We have truly been together through it all. We’ve laughed together, cried together, screamed together, danced together, and, most importantly, grown up together. When I first stepped foot in Alex House in September ‘19 and was escorted to a tiny shoe box of a dorm that was supposed to be where I would live for the year, I’m not going to lie, I was extremely hesitant about whether or not I was going to enjoy my time here. But then I met you guys and my whole perspective of Alex House and Brentwood changed for the better.

Sofia, I remember meeting you in grade 9 and being extremely weirded out about your odd fixation with following me around wherever I went. Then when I finally stopped avoiding you and truly got to know you and your raunchy personality, our energies aligned and we’ve been inseparable ever since. You and I have been through hell and back together and I am so extremely grateful to call you one of my dearest friends.

Sylvia, I remember the first time you made an appearance as a small pixelated human on a Zoom call and thinking “This must be an awkward way to be introduced to everyone” but as I got to know you the past three years, I could not imagine my time here without your forever-comforting presence. You are truly the best House Captain anyone could ask for.

Skye, you have always had an interesting story to share and never fail to entertain me. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors of pursuing dentistry.

Miranda, my basketball queen, I look up to you like the older sister I never had. Your grounding and calming presence has always brought an amazing energy in the house and I am so happy that we got to experience this journey together.

Brooklyn, I look back to all the fun memories we had especially the ones at Thanksgiving. You never fail to make me laugh and I’m going to miss you.

Kiara, her chaotic energy is always unmatched and she brightens up every room she walks into. I still think the pink highlights was her best hair style and strongly encourage her to recreate it.

Sam is a force to be reckoned with. You are the kindest, most giving soul who constantly puts others before you. I will miss your adorable accent and your insanely good back massages.

Ella has been an amazing addition to Alex House although she rarely ever showed up to duty, I still love and appreciate her. Can’t wait till she becomes a famous field hockey player.

When COVID hit and I was unable to return home to see my family I felt unbelievably hopeless and it was all thanks to the people in Alex House who gave me unconditional love and support. My entire heart goes to Ms Warner and Ms Langer and all of the Alex House staff who have shown me and all of the girls never-ending affection. They are always willing to fight for you, advocate for you, lend a shoulder to cry on, join in with the gossip, and make any impossible situation filled with hope.

Through the lice pandemic and the actual pandemic Alex House has always and forever will be my home away from home. I don’t know what I will do when the day comes where we won’t be able to laugh together, cry together, scream together, dance together, and grow up together anymore. So here’s to cherishing our last few weeks together as a family and here’s to success and happiness for our bright futures ahead. Ok that’s it from me. Love you all. Bye.
