This past weekend, Hope House hosted their annual tea party, inviting all of the young women on campus for treats and tea. The instructions were simply to “keep it classy” and BYOM (bring your own mug). The classy Mack S, Hope ’14 was in charge of organizing the many different delectable features served. Cheese scones, chocolate chip cookies, pink cupcakes, and cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwiches were included in her list of delights. Prior to the event, all of the Hope girls were found stringing pink streamers, placing pink flowers in vases, and, of course, primping themselves for this sophisticated event. As the guests walked in, soft music could be heard playing, as well as a few clinking glasses as tea was poured. Cameras were flashing as girls were trying to capture this event and cheerful banter was heard up and down the hallway. Girls were given the opportunity to meet some new friendly faces as they waited for the kettle to boil, as well as admire everyone’s cute attire. This event has been happening for the last few years, and really, it gives the girls an opportunity to dress up and socialize, rather than be stuck in their dorms watching Netflix on these cold, January days. All in all, the event was successful and put everyone who participated in a light, warm mood, ready to seize the following week of school.
