Privett House Pride

6 August 2024

With a reputation for housing the rule breakers, the delinquents, the characters, and the creatives, Privett has certainly lived up to its name in 2024. As a seasoned resident, I can attest that the camaraderie in Privett's brotherhood has and will remain eternal - as long as Neuf remains Houseparent. There is an energy and culture that cannot be beaten. From notorious bathroom haircuts to almost perpetual rumbling in the upstairs hallways, Privett carries an energy and vibe unlike any other house. It’s a place that feels like “another day in paradise” as aptly described by Ms Wolinsky.

With the Pandemic far behind us, Privett has rekindled its closeness. Privett is truly a band of brothers and even during the dark cold of winter, the boys never seem to lose their courage and energy. The boys, through struggle and determination, have not only learned to coexist, they have gained invaluable wisdom from each other.

To the Twelves. It has been a long, short ride, and the road to growing into strong leaders was a beaten one, but, with Brotherhood, Pride and Trust, we have grown into only slightly delinquent, capable, and responsible young men. We are brothers, and I can confidently say that lifelong friendships have been forged.

I could trust no group with the eventual leadership more than our 11s. I am confident that our future leaders will exceed the Privett values above and beyond my expectations. The future is bright for the soon-to-be Prefects - as long as Mr. Branchflower doesn’t permanently shut down Big Bros.

For our spirited juniors: only the strongest of leaders can inspire those who are unruly; to call the juniors unruly would be an understatement. I eagerly anticipate seeing the shaggy-haired, rambunctious perpetrators of chaos grow into distinguished gentlemen.

One could not describe the immensity of the Privett duty staff’s contribution to the house. Ms Wolinsky’s remarkable patience and Mr Neufeld’s immense wisdom have been invaluable. I speak for all the boys when I say I am endlessly grateful for the Privett Houseparents.
