The Internal Awards Ceremony
Finally, the classes had come to an end and the exam were starting. There was, however, an internal award ceremony to recognise students who excelled in a wide range of areas throughout the school year. These awards includes Academic Colours, Arts Colours, Athletics Coluors, Tripartite Colours and many other individual awards.
Academic Colors are given to students who excel academically at school. The students need to have at least 86%. Arts Colors are given to the students who do well in their art courses. The candidate with at least 2 basic arts or 1 advanced seniors course arts are eligible for the award, which are given to the student with at least 90% average on all of their art courses. Athletics Colors are given to the students who excel on sports. The juniors students needs to participate in at least two A teams and the seniors needs to participate in at least one A team; both need to have an average of 90% or higher to receive the awards.
Tripartite is an award that is given to students who achieve all three colors which means that that particular student not only excel on one side but three sides altogether.
Many individuals awards are also given out. For example, the Rock Star of the year award was given by Mr Scott McGill to Connor Wardrop, Rogers ‘18.
We congratulate all of the student for finishing the year and for some who received the awards and look forward to the challenges and rewards of 2018-2019.
