Anyone for Impromptu Bungee Jumping?

“Public speaking is like bungee jumping: terrifying yet very rewarding” expressed Gord Macdonald, a speaker at Brentwood’s recent TEDx event. How then would he feel about impromptu bungee jumping?  Last Friday, Brentwood hosted its first Interhouse Impromptu Public Speaking Competition. Student representatives from each house selected a prompt at random and then delivered a speech about it after only three short minutes to prepare. Speeches ranged from Emma F’s, Alex ‘16 delivery on the importance of “Starting small’ to Zeeshan A’s, Ellis ‘15 amusing tale of “If I could go back in time…”.  Happiness vibrated through the air as students cheered for their friends and enjoyed the entertainment.
