BC's Green Games
As Kermit once mused, it ain’t always easy being green, but Brentwood’s BEAT is trying our best! The Brentwood Environmental Action Team is a driving force for sustainability here on campus from pushing for improved waste streaming in the boarding houses and operating a school garden, to cleaning up the community and campus and taking the lead in environmental education. The members of the BEAT are passionate individuals who take a strong interest in preserving this beautiful world for the future, thus perfectly meeting the criteria for the 2011 BC Green Games competition.
A province-wide competition for schools, the BC Green Games is “designed to motivate action, enable sharing and reward and celebrate the green efforts of schools in BC” with a prize of funds to go towards the further expansion of sustainability projects. Focusing on sustainable development and stewardship, the BEAT is going strong again this year and promises to be a keen competitor in the coming competition.
