Brentwood Golf Team places 6th in Provincials
The Brentwood College golf team; Kirsty M., Rod R., Alexander P., Niall C., Krista F. and Coach Mr. Hardie, traveled to the AA golf provincials recently, held in Squamish at the Squamish Valley Golf Club. The golf course, a par 72 layout, has a 43 year heritage and is cut from mature Douglas fir and has many panoramic snow capped mountain backdrops.
Rain and clouds had been a main fixture this year in competitive golf and this championship was no different. It rained on both competitive days and all players had to deal with this additional factor. Given that this was a rebuilding year, Coach Hardie would have been happy with a top ten finish. On the first day the team finished third! The team played some great golf and this was an amazing result, highlighted by a 73 from Krista F.
On the second day, the team was up early for a shotgun start. Brentwood did not play as well and slipped into sixth place overall. Krista F. won the low female honors by one stroke scoring rounds of 73 and 81 and Kirsty M. got the honor of third overall. This was a fitting way for Krista to end her High School competitive career.
Congratulations to the Brentwood Golf Team.
