Captains of Arts 1

27 September 2013
Edna Widenmaier
As on the playing field, captainships in the Visual Arts Studios and Performing Arts classes recognize, nurture, and challenge leadership in our senior students. Each discipline has unique responsibilities. Candidates for this opportunity were considered on the basis of: Being considered by faculty and peers to be responsible and have the respect of their peers who will listen to them.Being prepared to lend a helping hand to teachers and students.Being knowledgeable in their art, coupled with technical proficiency.Being capable of being a spokesperson for their peers.Having been a loyal participant in the art.Having concern for the safety of the student artists and ready to intervene if necessary.Having demonstrated significant interest, perhaps even passion for the art: a Colour winner or candidate. We would like to acknowledge these Captains. Where warranted by numbers of students registered, there is a shared captainship in a subject.
