Regatta season is upon us and that means one special thing for our Entrepreneurship 11s: Regatta food booths. Our grade 11s have worked tirelessly over the past couple of months to create high-quality tasty treats for the event. This year, eight booths make up the arrangement at Campbell Commons: Fairy Tails, Waffle Express, Say Cheese, Funnel Factory, Get Knotty, Chicken Champions, Taco2Go, and La Creperie.

“This entrepreneurial opportunity for students is one of the best. Each of the students works as a team to problem solve, and communicate, and it's a fun business experience with the plus that the students get to keep most of the profits” shares Mr MacDonald, Entrepreneurship 11 teacher.

If you’re craving something sweet Fairy Tails is the booth that calls your name. For any American friends looking to get a traditional Canadian taste, Beaver tails from Fairy Tails are the perfect way to go. If Beaver Tails aren’t the treat to float your boat, Funnel Cakes from Funnel Factory should do the trick. Crispy fried dough covered in toppings like cinnamon sugar, Nutella and banana, Reese’s peanut butter, or Oreos all combined to melt in your mouth. These two booths are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

And if you need a hearty, savoury meal to satisfy a grumbling tummy, seek out Say Cheese for a grilled cheesy surprise, and Taco2Go’s Chicken Champions. Say Cheese offers freshly made OG grilled cheese, bacon grilled cheese, and a Breky bacon, egg, and chive breakfast sandwich. Taco2Go serves authentic taco bowls, nachos, and burritos with an array of delicious toppings; beef, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, and so much more. The Taco booth features a fun Bingo game where customers receive a BINGO card with every taco bowl order and have the opportunity to win a Brentwood Combo and get featured on their Instagram.

“It’s going really well. We are getting many customers who really seem to enjoy our food. It is very high intensity to work in the booths, however, I feel that our team is working really efficiently together. We have lots of variety, and there’s something for everyone’s preference: vegan, vegetarian, and even lollipops for the kiddos on campus. Please feel free to come by and check us out!” Sofia S, Alex ‘24, Taco2Go CEO comments.

Get Knotty, La Creperie, and Waffle Express are the booths to visit if you’re looking for something in-between. Don’t miss the fluffy, crispy, buttery pretzel knots coated in cinnamon sugar or dipped in garlic sauce from Get Knotty. La Creperie also offers sweet and savoury delights from ham and cheese to Nutella and banana, if you can’t decide, order both! A fan favourite within the crowd, Waffle Express even offers free samples to try before you buy. “The S’mores waffles changed my life!” Tommy M, Privett ‘23, Head Prefect exclaims.

A huge thank you to all of the hardworking entrepreneurs and their mentors, Mr Branchflower and Mr MacDonald. Be sure to check out each booth during the three-day event this weekend to show your support!
