Skyscraper, Skyscraper, Scrape me some Sky
Last Friday the Grade10s missed class for a day of bonding at Camp Qwanoes. Naturally, everyone was excited to miss school and meet some new friends (the Grad Class of 2018 nearly doubled this year.) All 146 of us piled into buses and were organized into groups. We participated in many fun events including floor hockey, capture the flag, cat and mouse, and laser tag. “Laser tag was super crazy and exhilarating!” said Amy C after experiencing the fun forest game.
Many of the braver students raced up a vertical obstacle course and climbed to the top of a towering zip line platform. The real thrill seekers went for a joyful swing ride…30 feet in the air. “Sky Scraper was amazing!” Louise B exclaimed excitedly after her ride.
Many of the students also enjoyed watching Mr. Patel ride the swing. “Him screaming and looking terrified was definitely the highlight of my day!” exclaimed a student who wishes to remain anonymous. ;-)
The day was a blast and created many new friendships which will continue to blossom over the course of the year. Thanks to the faculty and RFAs who made it all possible.
