Technology Leaders, Please Step Forward

21 December 2013
Brentwood’s Technology Council is pleased to announce our new Chair and Co-Chair, Aetheline C, Alex ‘14 & Joe K, Whittall ‘16.  Aetheline C joins the Brentwood community from Singapore and is a proud member of Alex House. She is passionate about technical theatre, community work, and helping organize events around the school. As a Grade 12 student, she has applied to Cornell's Hotel Administration program and hopes to work in a worldwide hospitality corporation. In keeping with Aetheline’s hospitable nature, she has enjoyed assisting other students frustrated with technical issues and is “happy to give help at any time.” Aetheline believes that “technology has been one of the most radical inventions of our time. With technology, we have made the impossible possible, we've made big, small, and we've made long distances, short.” As our new Chair, Aetheline hopes that “we can continue to make this school as efficient as possible. I would like all the wonderful IT things that we have implemented at the school to be known and effective. I would like every student to feel like the technology they are surrounded by is fluid and beneficial.” Originally from Campbell River, Joe K’s passion is photography, both digital and film. A Grade 10 Whittall student, he is the only member of the Technology Council to serve for a second consecutive year. According to Joe, one of this year’s highlights was watching Mr. Lee trace a student phone with great accuracy, the verdict being: “On the top floor by the elevator shaft.” This coming year Joe would like to learn how to write software and increase student use of the school’s technical resources.  We would like to thank Aetheline and Joe for their contributions to the Technology Council to date and look forward to an exciting digital year ahead.
