ISABC Learning Resource Teachers Pro D Day
On Monday, April 4th Brentwood was fortunate to host a group of learning resource teachers from several independent schools across the lower island. The focus of the day was “Inquiry, Differentiated Assessment and the New BC Curriculum.” The Keynote Speaker was Shelley Moore. Shelley is a teacher consultant and is known in the Vancouver area for her interactive presentations that integrate theory and effective practice of inclusion, special education, and technology. She currently teaches a course at the UBC Kelowna campus titled “Making Curriculum Accessible to all Learners.” Ms. Moore encouraged us to work collaboratively as curricular and learning experts to create classrooms that are purposeful and engaging, keeping in mind the physical, social-emotional and learning communities our students interact in each day.
