Coming off a big win against Surrey, the Junior Rugby team travelled to Victoria to play SMUS last Saturday. The coaches emphasized that we should work hard as a team and move the ball to space. The team was determined to win this game, and showed their desire during the pre-kickoff rituals, and through to the warm up. The Bs started the day Captained by Joel C, Rogers ‘19 with a big win against SMUS beating them 41-36. After the Bs escaped defeat by the skin of their teeth, the A side took to the field Captained by Jose G, Privett ‘18 ready for a grueling match. After a dominant first half the boys were up with a convincing lead, using their speed and skill to swing the ball outside to their dangerous wingers, who played a key role in the success of the offense, but dictated the flow of the game with their defense. With Brentwood’s strong defensive line SMUS had trouble solving the relentless pounding they received from the ferocious attack. With some big scrums, the forwards managed to steal many balls. This continued throughout the rest of the game as we held the SMUS juniors to only two tries making the final score 51-12. This was another excellent showing for the Junior Boys.
