Showcase Soccer Success

This past Tuesday was an exciting day for the Senior Girls Soccer team as it brought the Showcase Game against Shawnigan Lake School. Shawinigan always proves to be a tough match and we knew it would be a good game. Before the starting whistle, the girls were reminded of the importance of this league game as we try to qualify for North Islands. At halftime, the game was tied 0-0 and the heat was beginning to exhaust us, but the girls fought hard and were soon rewarded with a penalty kick due to a handball by Shawnigan. Rene L, Hope ‘16 took the shot and Brentwood grasped the lead 1-0. What a perfect way to celebrate your birthday, Rene! We continued to push for another goal and Bryn C, Mackenzie ‘16, after a great pass by Takara C, Mack ‘16, scored the second goal of the game, providing us with some comfort. The match ended 2-0 for Brentwood. We now prepare for our next game against Frances Kelsey to qualify for North Islands. We also look forward to possibly meeting Shawinigan again for another good match.
