The 2015-2016 school year has passed by, and has left a multitude of unforgettable memories for the Rogers House boys. The most significant thing the year brought was change. Going back to a full-capacity house, and introducing over 30 new students was undeniably a challenge, especially when the returning students were the numerical minority. Thanks to a collective effort, we were able to make a smooth transition from the outset, and get started on a fantastic year. Despite our vastly increased numbers, we managed to keep the trademark culture of closeness and brotherhood that was cultivated over the five years of having only half of the house. There is no way the house would have been able to function the way it has this year without the amazing prefects who stepped up to do duty, night and day. Of the events that have shaped what the house has become in the past year, the most noteworthy was the Rogers Open House which we hosted in late September after Orientation. Not only did this work to bring everyone much closer together in a time when relationships were still being formed, but it also provided us the opportunity to do something different. We decided to take all of the money gained from the event and give it to Mr. DeSandoli and his family who were going through a very difficult time. Massimo, their four year old son, was gravely ill. This proved that even with an overwhelming number of new students, we still had the spirit that makes us Rogers boys. This spirit proved unshakeable. When it came to Inter-House events, whether it was the Eco-challenge, Fun and Games Night, or Airband, we all contributed in one way or another and enjoyed ourselves, no matter what the result was.
