Mackenzie House – Affectionate and Amphibious
This past year, Mackenzie House was filled with countless memories and laughs that will be cherished forever. Through the meaningful traditions we experienced together such as our BBQ, Baywatch themed Open House, bowling with Ellis, in-House breakfasts, and the Mack Skate, we have been lucky to forge unbreakable bonds of sisterhood. It’s easy to see what Mackenzie House is all about. We are a family of sisters who give constant love and support to each other: this creates a welcoming home. From Grade 9 to 12, each individual plays a part in what makes Mack so special. The Grade 9s entered the House anxiously on their first day of Orientation, but within a week, their constant laughter and positivity made it clear that they had settled in and found a routine. These delightful young ladies have quickly adjusted, and are prepared for the years ahead. With their rookie year behind them, the Grade 10s, now double in numbers, made the entire House buzz with energy. They have created strong bonds that will surely stick with them until they graduate. Entering their first year as senior students, the Grade 11s tackled their new, tougher workload efficiently. With their enthusiasm, honesty, diligence, and love for the House, the Grade 11s of Mackenzie will continue the tradition of becoming a terrific leadership team. Finally, I must mention the 23 incredible prefects of Mackenzie. I am so thankful to have had their constant support and willingness. Without them, this House could not have functioned as smoothly as it did. I know that a part of us will always be with Mack House, and Mack House will always be with us. A huge thank you to our dear duty staff for keeping us in check. Special thanks to Mrs. Jackson – former Assistant and Houseparent of Mack – who is, sadly for us, retiring. You will be missed. Our greatest debt of gratitude is to our second mom, Ms. Cheung. Thank you for pushing us to be our best. Your loving soul has left a fingerprint on the heart of each and every girl. We love you!
