Nigerian Dinner

On October 1st, Nigeria celebrated its 56th anniversary of independence from Great Britain. On October 19th, the Nigerian students of Brentwood College School decided to represent their country and share their culture with the rest of the school. Crooks Hall was exquisitely decorated in green and white, Nigeria’s colours. All involved were dressed in very colourful traditional clothing and were quite energetic in treating their classmates to a genuine Nigerian experience. The meal consisted of Jollof Rice, Nigerian Style Roast Chicken, Meat Pie, Nigerian Style Veggie Fried Rice, and Fried Plantains, with Puff Puff for dessert and Zobo for the beverage. While everyone dined, the Nigerian students got down to some music from their mother country, providing an enjoyable medium of entertainment. When all was said and done, all the Nigerians stayed behind for a quick dance party before parting ways. Thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful night a possibility: Mrs. McLean and the SAC, all the Nigerian volunteers, and most of all, the lovely cooking staff who made a delicious, authentic Nigerian dinner for all.
