The Junior Boys Soccer players worked hard this fall season. After waiting for a certain straggler (Hello, Ope), we almost arrived to every game on time. Our pre-game warm ups were full of fire, with all 17 guys wanting to make the Brentwood name proud. Our first crucial tournament was the ISA Championships and although we had only been practicing together for two weeks, it felt like we had been a team forever. We played with heart and determination to win, but lost an evenly matched game against St Michaels University School 1-0. This placed us 3rd overall with two wins, a tie, and a loss. We bounced back from the narrow loss and practiced with more intensity because we had one thing on our minds: Islands. But there were also league games to play where we proved our success by defeating all of our Mid-Island opponents: Shawnigan, Kelsey & Gulf Islands. This gave us a guaranteed spot in the Island Tournament which we hosted. At Islands, after two tough games against Oak Bay and Brooks, we had no other choice but to raise our heads high, and defeat SMUS, our nemesis at the ISAs. We played with backbone and heart, beating our rivals 3-2 and stealing their shot at an Island gold medal.
