The Wellest of Wednesdays
An overcast misty morning brought the airy feeling of complete wellness across the Brentwood campus on Wednesday, May 26. Brentwood students took the opportunity to sleep in, indulge in outdoor activities, thoroughly relax, and more, all on this wonderful Wednesday.
With the many requests and rowdy enthusiasm from students and staff for one last Wellness Wednesday before summer break, Mr Sullivan proclaimed that May 26th would be the perfect date. An email was sent and suddenly Brentwood students exclaimed with delight, jumped with joy, and hooted with excitement for the new Wednesday schedule.
Many students were over the moon for May 26th to roll around. Serena H, Allard ‘24, prior to the event, exclaimed that “This Wellness Wednesday will be the best ever”. The usual slump of the pre-summer break was abandoned this Wednesday in an attempt by students to enjoy every free second they could obtain. Felicity B, Hope ‘23, sought me out to declare that her Wednesday was “spent in the most amazing way: playing soccer, sleeping, and eating”. Sounds like a great day to me!
On Wednesday, May 26th, Brentwood students could be found, most commonly, sleeping, finishing up on last-minute homework, enjoying the fresh air, journeying Uptown, and having a remarkable Wednesday overall.
In the coming fortnight, we will see an increase in student stress as dreaded final assessments roll around and summer comes right around the corner. A Wellness Wednesday was the perfect opportunity for us to reset our minds before heading into the thick of the weeks prior to summer break.
Thank you to the Brentwood Staff and Mr Sullivan for such an amazing initiative – truly the wellest of Wednesdays Brentwood has ever experienced.
