The Beginning of Academics at Brentwood

As the months of summer come to a close, many returning students are beginning to get back in rhythm, and many new students are realizing that this place is far more than just a summer camp with your friends – there is real work to be done. Students are beginning to utilize prep more as workloads increase, and Grade 12s have their hands full with Uni applications, Prefect responsibilities, and submitting grades from their first term of the year.

During the first week of classes, students got a chance to meet different kids, as well as their teachers, for the first time. Fortunately, the first week is definitely one of the lightest weeks of the year when it comes to academics. However, it can definitely be challenging to keep yourself organized. The first week is also a great time to create positive first impressions with your teachers, as this may influence your entire year!

In an interview with Brentwood lifer Sajeev S, Whittall 22, he explained how the first week of school can be an indication of how the rest of the year may go, and how “important it is to keep ahead of your work.”

The first month of academics can be a very overwhelming experience, especially for a new student, because it is important to keep up with your work and stay organized, but it can also be very exciting, as you are entering the next chapter of your life at Brentwood.
