Senior Girls Volleyball: great result at the Vanier/Isfeld tournament

It was a break-out weekend for the senior girls volleyball team after posting a 4th place finish at the 24-team Vanier/Isfeld tournament last weekend. Winning four of seven matches, the team really came together and played some exciting volleyball. Their big win came in the quarterfinals against the #5-provincially-ranked AAA team from Isfeld. A noisy home crowd did not faze the Brentwood girls in the first game where they recorded a sound 25-13 victory. Isfeld won the second 23-25, but Brentwood emerged victorious in the third with a score of 15-10. In the semifinals, the team lost 18-25, 25-23 and 2-15 to #4-ranked AAAA Vanier, then also lost a a tight bronze medal match to #7-ranked AAAA Dover Bay 25-19, 18-25, 11-15. Shelby Michaels had a superb weekend, averaging 20 kills (spikes that score) per match, while Sara Jackson and Gigi Mondavi showed their awesome skills on defence. Next up for the team is the 4th Annual Brentwood Invitational tournament Oct 17/18.
