Third Term Activities at Brentwood are Hot

As the weather gets warmer at Brentwood, so does the desire for competition, as many students will begin to embrace the heat through outdoor activities.

And although there are many competitive third-term sports, such as rugby, soccer, tennis, and rowing, the competition doesn’t end there.

In the near future, we will begin to see, “friendly” matches of spikeball, lacrosse, soccer, football, tennis, and many more activities as the year comes to an end.

Another popular activity as the weather gets warmer is swimming off the dock, and although some of the rowers are quite familiar with the ocean, I’m sure that they will appreciate the temperature of the water more in May than in January; as Whittall’s finest Alec D, states, “The water will feel like a jacuzzi come May!”

However nice the water might appear, it can be a challenge for some students. Arlo, for example, has a deep rooted fear of water, and claims that he won’t go near any water, “unless it is actually Dr. Pepper or Sprite” – Arlo R, Whittall ‘22.

It is also well spent time in the afternoon, and as a Grade 12 student I know that I will never get to experience the beginning of summer at Brentwood again. So I have to take advantage of great views, the tennis, basketball, and squash courts, the ocean, the gym, and the people. I won’t be able to come back next year and experience it all again.

So my advice to students is to take advantage of the good weather, because as we all know, the weather in BC is not always sunny and warm. And soon enough it will be the beginning of the 2022-23 school year and you will be missing this weather and the time spent outside.
