Applefest II – Getting to the Core of Things

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away and that is one reason Environmental Advocacy hosted Applefest II during Earth Week.

Applefest II celebrated the marvels of the apple, a low-carbon fruit producing only 0.24kg of carbon per pound of food. It’s also a locally-grown treat available all year round. Nutritious, packed with fibre and antioxidants – what’s not to love?

Last Thursday, in McNeill’s from 5:00 to 6:30, Katie L, Mack ‘24 and I showed our love for apples by encouraging others to dip their apples in warm, gooey caramel.

To say that the turnout was large would be an understatement. The apple-dipping table was always filled with people who were thrilled to have a low-carbon, after-dinner treat!

I would say that Applefest II was another major success and a future Brentwood staple of the fall and spring social calendar!
