“Rogers, Rogers, Rogers. I am 100% Rogers!”

Brentwood’s first Open House of the year was an exhilarating event, buzzing with excitement and energy. As students arrived, the lively sounds of music, laughter, and animated conversations filled the air. Kade G, Rogers ‘25, perfectly described the event’s hype by noting that the event was a “lively buzz, filled with energy” perfectly encapsulating the electric atmosphere of the event.

This year the theme was ‘Spies’, and many students embraced it by styling themselves in all-black outfits. From sleek sunglasses to plastic props, everyone participated in the fun, making it a night to remember.

The first Open House always brings crowds and excitement as it is a perfect chance for Rogers boys to display their house pride. As Steven G, Rogers House Captain ‘22 famously said, “Rogers, Rogers, Rogers. I am 100% Rogers!”

For many students, this event marked a significant moment in their Brentwood journey. Some seniors savoured their last Rogers Open House, reflecting on the memories they had created at this annual event. Meanwhile, for new students, this was their first taste of what it means to be part of the Brentwood community: participating in the mosh, visiting rooms, getting soda and pizza, and taking a trip to the photo booth. No matter which one, all students became united in the mosh to sing and dance to the blaring music courtesy of the Rogers 12s, creating a loud but exciting aura.

Rogers House staff also played a significant role in the evening’s success. The strong bonds between students and teachers at the school are a reminder that the Brentwood community extends beyond just the students. The positive presence of Rogers’ faculty added depth to the evening, emphasizing the supportive network in a student’s life.

Mr Ross, a beloved staff member of Rogers House, the Brentwood Rowing Program, and the main character in the Rogers Open House video, took a moment to observe the event when asked to describe the night. Reflecting on the event, he remarked, “The night was so amazing. I am speechless.” His words resonated with the hundreds of attendees who felt the same sense of excitement.

The Open House served as a wonderful opportunity for students to connect and kick off the school year with enthusiasm. Ultimately, it helps set the tone for a bright school year ahead.
