After an incredibly competitive season, the Varsity Volleyball team is preparing to host provincials on their home turf! From Thursday, November 28th to Saturday, November 30th, the top 16 AA Girls’ Volleyball teams in BC will fight for first place. Brentwood is expecting hundreds of spectators to descend upon beautiful Mill Bay to spectate and support athletes from all over the province.

To prepare for this grand event, parents and student volunteers have been hard at work collaborating with Head of Athletics Mr Gage, Head of Volleyball Ms Fougner, and BC School Sports Officials to make this event a success! Members of the Senior A Volleyball team have been canvassing the community, letting small businesses know that Mill Bay is going to be bustling very, very soon. Assistant Houseparent of Mackenzie and Assistant Coach of Sr Volleyball, Ms Manton, exclaims, “The program and I are extremely excited to prepare for the tournament and support the team!”

Before the provincial championship is fought for, the team had to compete on the Island, earning the number one AA seed. Zoe G, Alexandra ‘26 expressed, “North Islands was a great start to our playoffs journey, and we are all extremely excited to continue to compete.” The team played incredibly consistently during North Islands, not dropping a set against opposing teams and cinching the title of first in the North.

The team travelled to Highland Secondary School in Comox, BC, for Islands and continued their dominant run. After two days of competition, Brentwood didn’t drop a set and swept St. Michaels University school in the finals to win a well-deserved gold medal. Ella W, Mack ‘25, Co-Captain, described Islands as “a convincing and satisfying finish to begin our run for the banner in the coming weeks!” Ella also earned Tournament MVP Honours.

The school is elated with its overwhelming victory throughout the playoffs and cannot wait to show our support at AA Provincials. Field Hockey Captain Siera E, Mack ‘25 is “so excited to cheer [her] friends on and show [her] Brentwood pride!”

As the seasons change and volleyball nears its end, Provincials is the final stage for the Senior Girls Volleyball team.
