Privett House ’24-’25

It’s our turn now, as Grade 12s, to say goodbye to Privett House as another year comes to a close. Soon many of us will hear the last of each other’s voices, heavy footsteps and screams of excitement from the halls. Still, I couldn’t be more grateful. Over the past four years, we’ve laughed, competed, struggled and grown together. Privett became more than just a part of school – it became a home.

What makes Privett special is the brotherhood that we built together within these walls. So many unique personalities and qualities came together to form a bond that I’ve leaned on countless times. I’ve watched boys become more reliable, more respectful and more confident. I will be carrying these memories for my lifetime.

This year, Olivier Balek and Tighe Kramer helped lead our interhouse competitions with spirit and drive. Whether we were winning or losing, our trust kept us strong – we were Ram Tough and proud of it. Resilience has also shone through each of us in the house through tough losses and other challenges. It’s been a privilege to witness the growth of so many people in this house. A special thank you to Head Prefect Matson Waring, who led with kindness and quiet strength, setting an example for both the senior and junior students.

To the Grade 9s, 10s and 11s, the Privett legacy is in your hands. You’ll become the ones who shape memories, build culture and guide the next generations of Privetteers. I am not sure yet if I will miss pushing the Grade 10s to bed, but I still appreciate the memories you’ve given me. Best of luck to all of you, the future leaders of our home.

Thank you to our Houseparents and Duty Staff for the patience and support you have shown. You have helped us learn how to lead and allowed us to be ourselves. Goodbye Privett. Bleed Blue, stay proud, and never lose what makes our house a pillar of the school.
