Airband – House Pride Takes The Stage

Every year, Airband brings the school together for one of the most high-energy nights on campus. Eight houses. Countless rehearsals. One stage. All compete in a series of choreographed, lip-syncing performances that truly emulate each house’s sense of pride. 

This year’s performance lineup was one of the most energetic in recent years. 

Mackenzie House juniors kicked off the night with their incredible hip-hop choreography, followed by their seniors, who kept the energy high with their throwback early 2000s pop theme “that took everyone back to the MTV era,” according to Ms. Emily Carroll, Chemistry Teacher and Assistant Hope Houseparent. 

The juniors really held their ground this year, proving that Airband isn’t just a senior spotlight. 

Hope juniors brought the house down with a western-pop mashup, balancing line dancing and pop hits in a performance packed with energy. “We all channelled our inner Shania Twain for this one” added Sasha, D Hope ‘28. 

Meanwhile, both Whittall juniors and seniors earned plenty of kudos from the crowd for their clean choreography and confident stage presence. 

Ellis House kept things smooth with their hip-hop performances, showcasing their impeccable costume details and crowd-pleasing rhythm. 

Alex Seniors really turned up the volume with a full Nicki Minaj tribute: “It definitely would’ve made the Queen Nicki very proud,” said Lucas K, Whittall ‘26. 

The Hope and Privett seniors finished off the night in the mixed-senior category with their Just Dance theme that got everyone moving in their seats. 

When that final curtain fell, the applause said it all. Airband 2025 was a night of unforgettable performances, laughter, and school spirit. It serves as a reminder of how creativity and collaboration can bring our community together. 

A huge thank you goes out to the Theatre Production team and Ms Britton-Foster for their behind-the-scenes work in lighting, sound, and stage transitions that made each act uniquely its own.  

Appreciation is also owed to Ms Tammie Ramsay, Assistant Whittall Houseparent and Head of the SAC, whose organization, encouragement, and energy turned months of planning into a seamless and unforgettable show. Without her support, none of this would have been possible. 

Airband 2025 wasn’t just a competition; it was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the house pride that makes our school come alive.
