Senior Soccer Season Successes

The Senior Boys had a fantastic season, putting in a huge amount of effort and commitment. Our season truly showed how hard we worked and how much we progressed as a team throughout the term. We stuck to our team tactics and references and had great success in competitions this year, placing 1st in the North after beating a very strong Carihi High team, and then a week later, we beat Edward Milne in the Island Championships, winning the Island for the first time in 20 years.

At Provincials, we played some very high-level soccer against some excellent teams. In the end, we finished 6th in the province. Even though we were hoping for a medal, the boys showed great character and handled themselves very well, especially after some tough losses.

The boys truly put in so much work for this team. Whether it was early morning practice before classes, playing in the cold, rain, or travelling long distances for games, their effort was constant. I am so grateful to have been part of such a dedicated group.

I also want to thank the team for making the season so enjoyable for me and the other Grade 12s. We will sincerely miss playing with this group and are so thankful for all the memories we made, which will stay with us forever. What an effort from the boys this year – they should be very proud.

We would like to thank Mr Barrett, Mr Henman, and Mr Yorath for all the time and commitment they put into our team this year.
