ARTS: A Season of Artistic Reach

The Winter Term has seen our artists push boundaries across every medium, blending tradition with modern innovation.

Gallery Highlights: Our Centre for Arts Gallery recently hosted Overtures: Space, showcasing a stunning array of student work. This collection remains on display until our Regatta show in April.
Musical Milestones: Concert for a Winter’s Eve—led by new Head of Music Michael Keddy—raised over $1,000 for the local food bank. More recently, students experienced Gods and Lovers, a Victoria Baroque matinee in the Killy Theatre featuring professional opera singers and 16th-century instruments.
Public Speaking & Debate: Our teams secured multiple podium finishes at the Provincial Public Speaking Competition. In January, 31 students competed at the Vancouver Model UN (VMUN) against 1,500 delegates. We are proud to share that Brentwood students won 10% of the total awards available, including:
- Best Delegate: Valentina W (Allard ’25)
- Outstanding Delegates: Sprinkle W (Mack ’25), Tjark P (Privett ’26), and Max C (Ellis ’25)
- Honourable Mention: Aikam D (Allard ’26)
- Best Research: Michael Q (Ellis ’25)
The Coast Salish Carving Project: Under the instruction of Beau Wagner, Visual Arts and Woodworking students are engaging with the Salmon Boy story as they carve two welcome figures for the School. This on-site outdoor classroom allows students to learn the cultural significance and healing properties of Western Red Cedar.
