Beyond the Gates: Future-Proofing the Global Brentwood Rugby Experience
At Brentwood, rugby is more than a term-long commitment; it is a year-round journey of character development. While our spring term is dedicated to competition, the most transformative component of our program is touring.
The Ethos of the Tour
Any student who has toured knows the reward of bonding with teammates while billeting with opponents in places like Argentina, Europe, or Oceania. These tours create a passion for the sport that transcends the field. As William Percillier ’17 (professional player in France’s Top 14) reflects: “Touring was an important part of developing not only my passion for rugby, but also my perspective on the game and the world around it.”
Securing the Future
International travel is becoming increasingly complex and expensive. The recent cancellation of our 2026 European tour due to rising costs has made one thing clear: we must future-proof this experience for the next generation.
Our goal is to grow the Rugby Fund from its current $350,000 to $500,000. Reaching this endowment level will allow the interest generated to subsidize a major international tour every two to three years—starting with our proposed 2027 tour to Wellington, New Zealand.
How You Can Help
Every contribution helps us ensure that Brentwood Rugby remains competitive, affordable, and accessible. Your support provides the “cultural bridge” that helps our student-athletes discover the global rugby community.
