Spring has Sprung: Spring Formal 2026

Spring Formal, an event seniors count down the days until, finally arrived on Saturday, May 2. It is a final chance for seniors to enjoy dressing up and taking memorable pictures on our beautiful waterfront. The event was organized differently this year, and it was held mostly on the deck of Crooks, McNeill’s, and Campbell Common.

From hilarious Spring Formal asks to Thrifties selling out of bouquets, the week leading up to Spring Formal was full of amazing memories. It is even tradition for the asks to be judged as 1) Most Romantic, 2) Most Original, and 3) Funniest. It is a fun way to showcase all the creative requests people come up with, and it brings the community together when we all “Ahh” and laugh in unison at the videos in Assembly. “I was very nervous and worked very hard on my Spider-Man themed ask, but it all paid off in the end,” says Kang C, Whitall ‘26.

At the event, we were greeted by a paparazzi consisting of Mr Chalmers, Head of School, and Ms Tammie Ramsay, Head of the SAC. The deck of Crooks was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements, little tables, and couches for comfort and convenience. Students sat, chatted, took pictures, visited the photobooth and enjoyed sushi, chicken wings, and shrimp cocktails.

The event was a great success and a chance to bond. From complimenting each other’s dresses and suits (Brentwood cleans up well) to taking adorable pictures with groups you wouldn’t usually do so with, we truly grew closer. The idea of having live entertainment at the event was a great chance to showcase talent, and all sang “Cheerleader” as Ryer B, Whittall ‘26, hopped up on stage. And it was just as impressive to see our talented rowing crew, who drove in just hours earlier from their regatta at the Windermere Cup, show up spick and span, showing the grit of the Brentwood athletes. “It was the best night, and everyone looked great!” shared Lila C, Hope ‘26.

A huge thank you goes out to Ms Ramsay and her Grad Council for countless hours of organizing; Sahir T, Rogers ‘26, Grad President, for having creative ideas and putting together the winners of the Spring formal asks; the BFAs and Food Services Staff for making students feel proper and special; and finally each and everyone that showed up, had fun, and helped clean up this beautiful event.

Now that we are in the final stages of the year, as In-suk would say, “Enjoy it, eh!”
