Local Charities Rewarded

Yesterday during assembly, Brentwood’s SAC (Student Activities Council) faculty sponsor, Susan Quinton, was proud to host 13 local charities and present them with donations raised by BCS students on Charity Work Day in March. The charities included; the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Warmland House, Community Options Society, Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association, Abbeyfield Houses Society of Duncan, Cowichan Family Caregiving, Growing Together Child and Parent Society, BC Lions Camp Shawnigan, Mill Bay Food Bank, Cowichan Valley Hospice Society, Somenos Marsh Society, and Clements Centre Society. In addition to these organizations,Phil Newns Monday Morning Music Therapy program for special needs adults, received a donation from the Choirs in Concert fundraiser. The YPI (Young Philanthropy Institute) students also gave a donation to the Women Against Violence Against Women.
