The melodious rhythm of music, the gentle brushstroke of paint on a new canvas, the smell of fresh clay or freshly cut wood: the senses are enlivened at 2 o’clock on a fine arts day.  Jocks, academics, and socialites all transform into delightful young adults upon entering their afternoon classes. The power of the arts calms and soothes the soul.
Whether you can draw or not, fine arts are for everyone. Being a part of the creative process brings joy and wholeness to any student. From dance to sculpture, singing to acting, the creativity is endless. Picking up the paint brush, chisel, or music sheet drives the stress away. This calming effect provides serenity to campus on fine arts afternoons. This section of the tripartite system balances the competitive drive of sports and the stress of academics to help create a healthy student lifestyle.
So while you struggle to understand complex mathematic principles, or tie your brain in knots analysing the synthesis texts, muse about the afternoon that is still to come and your soul will be calmed. Allow the awesome power of creativity to ease your burden, if only for an hour.
