Brentwood Girls’ Rugby 3rd at McGeachy!

This past Friday and Saturday the girls’ rugby team played its opening games of the season in very muddy conditions. Admirably led by Grade 12’s Martina E, Andrea C and Chelsey O, the team beat Semiahmoo, a AAA team from Whiterock by 30 pts, then showed lots of grit falling three tries to one to Cowichan. On Saturday morning, despite missing a number of starting players, they beat a tough team from Vanier 17-12. Dani R was the top try scorer as the forwards rucked well and the defense improved steadily game by game. Every member of the group played and can be proud of their third place finish. League play begins at the start of next term.
