Brentwood Athletes Receive Regional Recognition

Last Sunday three member of Brentwood’s Grad Class of 2013 attended a luncheon where they were recognized as members of the Cowichan Valley’s Top 20 Youth Athletes of the Year.

Spencer M, who plays volleyball, basketball and rows has recently secured a scholarship with Indiana University. She placed 11th. Jordan C, Captain of Boys Basketball, placed 5th. Jordan has represented Basketball B.C. for 3 years and is a major contributor on Brentwood’s boy’s basketball squad. Nick R currently rows in the Brentwood Varsity Boys Eight; he has competed at the National Championships for 4 years and has a collection of silver medals. Nick placed 6th.

The luncheon was special for these 3 athletes as they were addressed by two Canadian Olympians, including Kyle Hamilton, Captain and stroke of Canada’s Olympic Gold medal Men’s 8+ from Beijing, who shared inspiring stories and their keys to success.
