Brentwood’s Sexiest Men, Their Friends and Foes

“Whittall House has long been known for having the sexiest boys at Brentwood. What you may not have heard, is that the Grade 12s of Whittall are direct descendants of the Greek gods.” These now infamous lines set the stage for what would arguably be the best open house of the year. Led by Trap-Lord Tom S, toga-clad soldiers from across the Brentonian Empire invaded Whittall House on a Saturday in November to overthrow the gods and reclaim what was rightfully theirs. Whittall House had been turned into a Greek villa with all the boys putting in many man-hours over the week into building backdrops for the photo-booth, mixing beats for the dance and preparing their rooms for the inevitable onslaught of visiting Visigoths. As many of the boys can attest, making a toga is not an easy task. Fitted Sheets? Nope. Duvet covers? Too long. Towels and a ripped up tank top? Only if you’re the Trap Lord. The proper procedure, which many boys promptly ignored, is to find a semi-circle of cloth and gently drape the folds over the body and make them fast with pins. They had to be secure in anticipation of the dance. Bodies twisted and danced to quasi-ancient beats in the downstairs common room spun by legendary DJs: Evan S, Tom S & Donovan M. When not bobbing to the Greek-dance party music downstairs, the invading hordes contended themselves with sight-seeing the civilised lands in the dorms and the popular photo-booth run by Joe K. Also popular among the incoming savages were the hotdogs grilled semi-traditionally over an open flame by pit master Mohit D. Unlike last year, the new and improved Whittall Pantheon was not suffocated by the alluring umami of hotdogs but rather the sweet nectar of ambrosia and baby oil. The night was a huge success and the bar was set high for next year. Thanks to all the staff, and especially the Whittall House boys, for making this a night to remember. Jeen S, Whittall ‘14
