A Season of Laughter, Learning & Smiles: Term 1 Comes to a Close

As the first term cames to a close, the campus felt a little different – quieter hallways, fuller hearts, and a shared sense of pride in everything we’ve built together. Over the past few months, students pushed through early mornings, late-night study sessions, packed sports schedules, arts explorations and moments that stretched us in the best ways. This term wasn’t just a collection of classes and events; it was a reminder of what it means to grow, support one another, and strengthen the community we call home.

“I am extremely happy and proud that my first term at Brentwood is coming to an end,” explains Nathan L, Ellis ‘28. “Though boarding school life took a while for me to adjust to, the weeks have recently gone by so quickly, and I can’t believe we are already heading into the new year.” For Nathan, the boarding experience has already proven rewarding and exciting.

Shiv D, Ellis ‘27, echoes this sentiment: “While there were moments that were definitely exhausting and tough, I was able to push myself with the support of my Ellis House brothers and my amazing Houseparents. I’m so happy I made the decision to come to Brentwood and can’t wait for the new year when I return in January.” For Shiv, the term has been a mix of challenge and growth, made easier by the people who helped him feel at home.

This term delivered no shortage of memorable moments. From Orientation Week to senior teams competing at Provincials and Interhouse events like Basketball and Mini Olympics, First Term offered an exciting start to the year. Looking ahead, students can expect Showcase games, Winterlude, the musical, Cinderella, and more interhouse competitions – plenty to look forward to as we continue into the winter months.

“The thing about a place like Brentwood is that every day is a great day. I’m always so happy to see the boys, whether it is through playing ping pong or just a deep conversation,” shares Mr Carlos Erding Islas, our wonderful Ellis housekeeper.

A huge thank you goes to all the faculty, staff, and students who make Brentwood the community it is. As each day brings us closer to the end of our time together, I’m grateful for the memories we’ve made this term and excited for what lies ahead in the second and third terms.
