A Team of Legends

A Team of Legends

29 December 2013Nicholas “Panther” Walker

Since the dawn of time, perfection has been sought. Generations of dinosaurs with their stumpy arms explored Earth’s vast expanses for years, searching for this pinnacle of greatness. They were unsuccessful. After building the pyramids, the Egyptians struggled daily with new ideologies and philosophies that they hoped would help them recreate this perfection. They too, were unsuccessful. Even though perfection was yearned for so desperately, disappointing eras still followed. The Xia Dynasty searched the land, the Aztecs searched the sea, the National Aeronautics Space Administration searched the heavens – but to no avail. Enter Mr. Horth and Mr. Garvey. Hairless, yet fearless; aging, yet raging. Together, this memorable duo achieved something that had never been achieved before. Perfection. This perfection was achieved by sculpting the Brentwood College School Senior Boys Soccer team in the historic year of 2013. They were a team of stalwart champions, a team of heroic proportions, a team of formidable displays of skill. A team of legends. But don’t just take my word for it. Listen to the myriads of fans: “I love my children, but that love is nothing compared to my love of this team.” – Mr. Bud Patel “The first tattoo [of Martin K] that I got on my lower back serves as an everyday reminder of this team’s greatness.” – Mr. John Garvey “If I had a chance to end world poverty, or watch this team just one more time – I’d watch this team just one more time.” – Damian M “This soccer team stole more than my shoes. They stole my heart.” – Jordan R “I am en route.” – Cristiano Ronaldo From soccer greats, to soccer gods. The Senior Soccer boys of Brentwood ‘13 In all seriousness, I am so proud to have captained a team like this that made its way through tournaments and was able to qualify for the coveted Islands Championship. Thanks for the fantastic season boys, Love, Captain Nicholas “Panther” Walker
