Allard House Captain
Dear Allard House,
Although we are all from different places and have different life experiences outside of the Allard walls, when we come together in our house we share a lot of the same feelings: the anxiety about showing up on our first day and wondering who we will sit with in the cafe, the strength of tirelessly fighting for the W in Interhouse events, and although we might come up short, we make up for it by always bringing the hype and Allard spirit.
We care for each other in our hardest times, like in the second term when the pile of tests mounts, and we celebrate each other for our accomplishments along the way. Throughout the year, we learned that living together means becoming each other’s biggest supporters. The caring nature of our house shaped the friendships that will last long after graduation. Different backgrounds, personalities, and grades blended into one supportive community built on acceptance, strength and care.
Most importantly, our house became a place where everyone could belong. The memories we made through laughter in the halls and bathrooms, movie nights, Big-Little activities, borrowed clothes that somehow never get returned, and friendships formed in the most ordinary moments will stay with us forever. No matter where life takes us next, we will always carry a piece of this house and the people in it with us.
Thank you to Allard House for being more than just a place to sleep, but a place to call home.
Kate Watt, Allard House Captain ‘26
