An Event to Remember: Interhouse Volleyball ‘26

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Foote was filled with house colours, screaming fans, and the Whittall Bulls becoming Olympic-level volleyball players. At 7:00 pm, the courts filled with players who had been preparing all week with thorough practices and sleepless nights.

From the moment the first whistle blew, it wasn’t just about the points; it was about the collective cheer of eight houses coming together to celebrate teamwork and Brentwood pride. Mack-Ellis opened against Alex-Whittall, while Allard-Rogers faced Hope-Privett. Stakes were high, as the top three houses in the Interhouse rankings were just a few points apart. After Whittall successfully demolished Ellis, the top dogs of the Interhouse rankings, Kyle R, ‘28, stated, “Light work, no reaction” showing the confidence and determination that Whittall brought to each game. Mackenzie, on the other hand, fought hard and kept other teams on their toes, even beating the winners of the girls’ houses, Hope.

The fans’ energy was electric and contagious, bringing a happy vibe to one of the last Interhouse events of the year. Hope & Privett both had very strong teams, and their positive energy was visible. “I am proud of every player, and because of them, every game was a nail-biter that kept us on our toes,” says Captain of the Hope team, Fiona C, ‘26. The athletes were sweaty and overworked, but proud and enthusiastic about the hard effort they put in. The final matches for first and second place were between Whittall & Privett and Alex & Hope. Whittall, with the help of their star players “Sendy Rick” and “Buzzin’ Bin,” won first place, while the hardworking Hope beat Alex. Congratulations!

From spiking and serving to shouting and celebrating, it’s always nice when the Foote Center is filled with thrill and games. “Everyone worked super hard, and I am proud,” stated Mr Jaden Ma, Ellis BFA and committed volleyball lover.

A huge thank you goes out to Ms Ramsay for organizing, the Interhouse Captains for preparing their teams, the BFAS for scorekeeping, and each and every fan for bringing the hype on Saturday night.
