Ballet Fundraiser for School in Zambia
As an incentive to reach the SAC fundraising goal for the school house in the village of Munakandi, Zambia, Connie Wylie, the campaign chair, promised the students a ballet performance by male faculty members. The objective was a solar panel to bring electricity to the school which cost $6,000. SAC members were busy March through June selling cookies at musical performances, art work at the regatta, and flowers at the dance recitals. Other events included special dress-up days (PJ Day, Jeans Day and World Cup Day) and a fun Beach Day and Dance. Brentwood parents and faculty also sent in contributions and on the day of the ballet performance, June 17th, we had surpassed our goal and the men danced.
