Brentwood Ballet Dancers take the next step

10 April 2010karen.fisher

At Brentwood, we believe the arts promote creativity, self-expression, and teamwork. Enter the T.Gil Bunch Centre for Performing Arts and you might typically hear the jazz band, or concert choir performing, but as of late you would have been hearing our dancers rehearsing for a very special event. After many hours of practice, four of our Brentwood students will be taking their training to the next level. Noah M. and Michelle M. will be taking their Intermediate Royal Academy of Dance Ballet exams. Two other students, Sarah M. and Kelsey S., will be taking their Intermediate Foundation Ballet exams. A classical dancer trains for several hours per week working on core strength, fine and gross motor skills, artistry and musicality along with technique. The students will be taking these exams from April 11 to 14th. Our dance program offers a variety of options including Choreography, Experienced Junior Dance, Intermediate Dance and Advanced Dance. This ranges from basic jazz, hiphop, and modern dance techniques incorporating stretching and strengthening techniques within the warm-up.
