After dedicated Spring Break research or last minute applications, a team of a dozen Brentwood Model UN representatives attended Shawnigan Lake School for a co-hosted MUN conference. Delegates attended such diverse committees as the International Atomic Energy Agency (whose subjects were nuclear weapons and power plant safety standards) the Social, Cultural & Humanitarian General Assembly, directed by Nick W and, on the topic of HIV/AIDS, the International Criminal Court, which recreated the trial against Bashar Al-Assad.

Zhi-yao C staffed the Historic Crisis Committee which played out the leadership during the Seven Years War and the American Revolution. A new addition this year was the Press Corps, co-directed by Jonathan H and Sarah M.

Each council was filled with amazing discussion and debate. Brentwood delegates glistened in their committees, with many achieving awards or becoming favourite sources for the press corp. Kevin D, as George Washington, received Best Position Paper on the difficult HCC while Calder M, as Iran, came away with an Honourable Mention on the IAEA, and Natalie L won Outstanding Delegate on the large SOCHUM.  Congratulations to all the delegates on the great weekend and their wonderful contributions to the event.
