Intrepid Old Brentonians Clare (’94) and Esther Mackinnon (’96) are biking across Canada this summer to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. These two sisters will be travelling from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland.

Not every Canadian woman would willingly bike across our vast country. On the event website, they have explained their incentive: "This is not an every day event for us so we thought to make it all the more worth while and to encourage us along the way… why not raise money for a worthy cause?! All donations that we receive will go towards emergency financial aid for individuals and families suffering from brain cancer. This will include help with medication costs that are not covered or assisted by the provincial government, help with transportation expenses and towards transportation provided by volunteers, and costs towards lodges provided by the Canadian Cancer Society where "out of town" patients can stay while making visits to the hospital."

We’re very proud of the Mackinnon sisters’ ongoing commitment to philanthropy and athleticism. Best of luck!
